Illinois Tech Track & Field Raced at First Chance Invitational

Naperville, Ill. - This past Friday, the Illinois Tech track and Field team competed at the First Chance Invitational hosted by North Central College. 

On the women's side, school records continue to be broken/improved. For both the men and women, more all-time records were set. 

Scarlet Hawk Women's Highlights

  • Amelia Moseman broke the school record in the 400m dash with a time of 60.37s. 

  • Olivia Jameson broke the school record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.69s.

  • Jameson also improved her school record in high jump, jumping a height of 1.61m. 

  • London Francis improved her school record in hammer throw with a distance of 31.51m. 

  • Annika McKown ran a time of 29.36 in the 200m dash, ranking her 8th all-time. 

  • Mckown raced a time of 19.21 in the 100m hurdles, ranking her 3rd all-time. 

  • Mckown jumped a height of 1.46m in high jump, ranking her 5th all-time.

  • McKown jumped a distance of 4.67m in long jump, ranking her 2nd all-time.

  • Francis raced a time of 22.67 in the 100m hurdles, ranking her 4th all-time. 

  • Francis threw a distance of 21.98 in javelin throw, ranking her 9th all-time.

  • Maria Plencner threw a distance of 24.94 in javelin throw, tying her for 2nd all-time. 

Scarlet Hawk Men's Highlights

  • Zach Barisa raced a time of 2:00.48 in the 800m run, ranking him 9th all-time.

  • Joey Loriso ran a time of 32:51.48 in the 10,000m race, ranking him 2nd all-time.

  • Nicholas Quigley ran a time of 33:19.44 in the 10,000m race, ranking him 5th all-time. 

  • Alejandro Torres ran a time of 33:20.50 in the 10,000m race, ranking him 6th all-time.

  • Finnick Poulin ran a time of 1:10.93 in the 400m hurdles, ranking him 2nd all-time.

  • Javier Bernal threw a distance of 34.51 in hammer throw, ranking him 4th all-time.

  • Isaiah John threw a distance of 22.79 in hammer throw, ranking him 7th all-time. 

  • Louis Ketchman threw a distance of 36.75 in javelin throw, ranking him 7th all-time.

  • Trevor Whitlach threw a distance of 35.98 in javelin throw, ranking him 9th all-time.

  • Jay Lomax threw a distance of 34.06 in javelin throw, ranking him 10th all-time. 

Up Next 

The Hawks continue the outdoor season this upcoming weekend when they participate in the Wheaton Invitational hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. Discuss for the meet will take place on Friday at Lawson Field for both the men and women. The rest of the meet will take place on Saturday starting at 11:30 AM at McCully Stadium (throwing events will take place at Lawson Field).
