Hawks sweep Mount Mary in “Volley for A Cure” Match


Chicago, Il- The Illinois Tech volleyball team hosted the Mount Mary Blue Angels Tuesday night in their "Volley for a Cure" match, an annual breast cancer awareness event benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  The Hawks sported pink jerseys as they defeated Mount Mary in 3 sets. The win brings their record to 8-12.

Tech led the entire match starting strong in the first set with multiple serving runs and carrying that momentum through the entire 3 set match.  Tech's offense had a fantastic night with a total of 32 kills to Mount Mary's 7. Taylor Duman and Shea Manley both led the Hawks in kills with 8 apiece, Duman hitting a .636, Manley a .250. Adriane Walther also had an impressive match hitting .444 with 5 kills, 13 assists and 13 digs. Serving was also a strong point for the Hawks, with Taylor Duman having 8 aces of her own and Irena Grauzinis and Reya Green both contributing 3 apiece.

Hawks will travel this Saturday to Oshkosh, Wisconsin where they will take on UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stout.
