Biography, Joseph Orgel PhD

Sifu Dr. Joseph Orgel is a martial artist, actor and fight choreographer, and scientist. He is an expert executive consultant in R&D, product development, mentorship, and leadership development. Orgel has been practicing martial arts and self-defense since he was a young boy, beginning with Taekwondo, Lau Gar Kung Fu, and Tai Chi. He was motivated to learn to defend himself and others from bullying and violence, becoming more effective as he studied different approaches. Orgel grew to love the movement, the forms, and applications as a means to express and harness his energies. He progressed to Tai Chi Chuan (Wutai) fighting form and competed in British national adult competition at the age of 18. He became a Quarter-finalist with only 6 months of formal training in the system. He also developed a ‘no harm’ form of self-defense for use while working with the infirm and mentally unstable during this time while working for the UK’s NHS. Now living and working in the Chicagoland area, Orgel is a seasoned Master level instructor in Chun Moo Hapkido (5th Dan), Korean Federation Hapkido (1st Dan), multiple internal forms of Kung Fu such as Wudang hand form Tai Chi Chuan and Yang style hand, stick, and sword, Splashing Hands boxing form, intensive physical Qigong forms and Butterfly Sword.
